We're Hiring: Join the Team Behind Miru
Saeloun is hiring. Rails + React. Small team. Remote-friendly. No hustle culture. Here's what it's actually like.
We’re hiring. Not because we raised a round. Not because we’re “scaling.” Because we have more work than people, and the work is good.
Saeloun is a Ruby on Rails consultancy based in Pune, India. We build Miru, an open-source time tracking and invoicing tool used by 500+ teams. We also do consulting for clients in the US and Europe. Some weeks you ship Miru features. Some weeks you’re deep in a client’s codebase. The variety is a feature, not a bug.
What it’s like here

Small team. No middle management. No sprint planning theater. You pick a problem, figure out the right solution, ship it, and move on. We deploy daily. When something breaks, we fix it the same day. Not because of an SLA. Because we use the product ourselves and broken things annoy us.
We work 40 hours a week. I know that shouldn’t be remarkable, but in this industry it apparently is. No late-night Slack pings. No “quick call” at 9 PM. No passive-aggressive “I saw you weren’t online last night” messages. We work, then we stop working. The code is better for it.
Wednesdays are meeting-free. That’s not aspirational. It’s policy.
The stack
Rails 8, React 18, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS, Vite. The CLI is Ruby. Tests are RSpec and Jest. Deployment is Docker on Cloudflare and standard infrastructure. Nothing exotic. Nothing we’ll regret in two years.
Open positions
Right now we’re looking for:
- Senior Rails Developer — Own backend features end-to-end. Time tracking, invoicing, API.
- React/TypeScript Engineer — Build the UI that hundreds of teams use daily. Tailwind, Vite, React 18.
- DevRel / Developer Advocate — Write docs, make videos, grow the community.
- Technical Writer — Documentation, blog posts, guides. Clear writing, no jargon.
All positions are Pune-based or remote. We don’t care where you sit. We care what you ship.
How to apply
Email careers@saeloun.com with what you’ve built. A GitHub profile, a blog post, a side project — whatever shows how you think. No cover letters. No “tell me about a time when.” Just show us your work.

The article is the theory. Miru is the workflow.
If this post is about better billing, cleaner tracking, or fewer tools, Miru is the product version of that argument.
