Clients are who you invoice. Every project belongs to a client, and every invoice is issued to one.

Steps

  1. Go to Clients and click Add New Client.

  2. Fill in the details:

    FieldRequiredNotes
NameYesUp to 30 characters. Must be unique in your workspace.
EmailNoUsed as the default recipient when you send invoices. Must be unique in your workspace.
    PhoneNo2 to 15 digits.
EINNoUS employer identification number in the form NN-NNNNNNN. Printed on invoices when set.
Address line 1, City, State, Country, ZipcodeYesThe billing address printed on invoices. Address line 2 is optional.
CurrencyYesThe currency this client is invoiced in. Reports convert totals to your base currency.
LogoNoPNG or JPEG up to 30 KB.
  3. Click Add New Client.

The client now appears in the list with zero hours and no invoices. Each new invoice for the client suggests a number that increments the client’s last one.

Next steps

  • Create a project under the client so your team can log time to it.
  • Invite a client contact from the client’s page (Add / View Contacts) if the client should see their invoices in the client portal.

Only owners and admins can add or edit clients.
